PrePass Safety Alliance Congratulates Derek Barrs on Confirmation
as FMCSA Administrator
PHOENIX, AZ – October 7, 2025 – Following today’s U.S. Senate vote confirming Derek Barrs as Administrator of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), PrePass Safety Alliance CEO Mark Doughty issued the following statement:

“Derek has built a distinguished record of leadership — from his service with the Florida Highway Patrol to his national work bringing together public and private stakeholders around common-sense, safety-driven policies. His time in the private sector adds to that experience, giving him a deep understanding of the federal–state partnership at the core of FMCSA’s work and a strong appreciation for the perspectives of both regulators and industry. That combination of experience uniquely positions him to lead FMCSA’s mission of reducing crashes, injuries, and fatalities while also supporting the safe and efficient movement of freight.
“The trucking industry is changing rapidly with new technologies, infrastructure challenges, and evolving supply chain demands. Derek’s leadership will be critical in navigating these shifts in a way that prioritizes safety, efficiency, and innovation.
